ORTHOPEDIC MASSAGE THERAPY

Orthopedic massage therapy at The Sonie Clinic is a treatment that is designed based upon the unique needs of an individual patient. The Orthopedic Massage is a combination of many different massage techniques and is designed to provide the utmost in relief of pain areas as well as healing in the soft tissues of the body. We combine trigger point therapy, deep tissue work, myofascial release therapy, active release therapy (ART), PNF (proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation). These treatments can range anywhere from 30-90 minutes depending on the patients case and also involve active stretching during the session. At Sonie Clinic we specialize in work and sports injuries. Our treatments are designed to bring the patient back into optimal health as quickly as possible while providing the patient with education for their health. Our treatments are incredibly effective allowing our patients to be back into their healthy and active lifestyles without much interruption to their daily activity.


WHEN IS ORTHOPEDIC MASSAGE THERAPY USED?

Orthopedic massage therapy is used on a patient when they have soft tissue pain which may stem from repetitive stress injuries (RSI) or accidents or injuries during vigorous activity or training. In order to help relieve the pain during injury, as well as to promote faster healing orthopedic massage therapy combines:

  • Deep tissue massage
  • Trigger point therapy

  • Joint & neural mobilizations
  • PNF (proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation)
  • Passive stretching
